From a National Geographic story I shot in China/Xinjiang last June. A slice of life on a 6 hours sandy train ride along the Taklamakan desert. I wanted that picture, and I had to talk (in mediocre Turkish!) my way into it. it's not a dramatic picture in an otherwise heavy World Press year. My family was next to me. Thanks to Nicole, Patrick, Sarah and the team at National Geographic for supporting me in this story!!
